Ron's Movie Picks for September
Not just for Kids
I've always felt that praise is the highest form of respect. It's a
method of showing approval or gratitude of one's work. How hard is it to
say please and thank you rather than complain about something that might
have been beyond ones control, but I'm degressing.
Received an email this week asking for my thoughts on a movie to be
released this month. I was flattered to have been asked. To correct a
myth that only kids go to the movies, they don't! One theater manager
shared with me that 40,000 moviegoers of all ages showed up the weekend
Harry Potter debuted. Needless to say popcorn was popping.
August attendance was about 21% higher than the same period last year.
Movie attendance is reaching an all time high. I hesitate to say "has
reached" because someone will always step forward and say, "Remember that
day in 1932 when millions of people went to see Errol Flynn?" No, sorry, I
don't!
Each month, Hollywood releases a well balanced group of movies to reach
every demographic. Cloudy with meatballs opens on September 18th for the
kids, Go see it.. "Jennifer's Body" starring Megan Fox for the 17 plus
group, "Love Happens" starring Jennifer Aniston, a love story for all
ages, and "All about Steve" starring Sandra Bullock. The movies aren't
just for kids; they're for everyone!!
See you at the movies!

My Movie picks
All About Steve
A love comedy for all ages. Mary ( Sandra Bullock) is looking for the
right guy and finds Steve ( Bradley Cooper) who is not. This reminded me
of "The Proposal" that co-starred Rynan Reynolds. This November Sandra
bullock will star in "Blind Side" A sory based upon the life of Michael
Oher, born Michael Jerome William's jr who played for the Baltimoe Ravens.
Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs
A great movie for kids being released on September 18. It's an animated
comedy about a young scientist named Flint Lockwood that tries to help his
small coastal town when it falls on hard times. Love this movie and
looking forward to taking the grandkids.
Love Happens
A love story about widower Burke Ryan( Aaron Eckhart) who is in Seattle on
a book promotion tour. He had written about dealing with loss, falls for
Eloise ( Jennifer Aniston) who attends his seminars. Jennifer Aniston, who
is now 40, and Aaron Eckhart, 41, discover that
coping with a loss takes more than just writing about it. It takes time.
Surrogate
In the future a surrogate robotic will perform our daily tasks while we
stay secure in the comfort of our homes. A Sci-Fi thriller starring Bruce
Willis and Radha Mitchell. Bruce Willis, last seen in "What Just
Happened" is FBI agent Greer that investigates the murder of the genius
college student that created the surrogates.
