US Open preempted for MDA Telethon

WABI TV5 will air the Muscular Dystrophy Association telethon this Labor Day weekend. MDA programming begins at 11:00pm sunday night, September 5, and airs continuously through Monday evening at 6:30. 

As a result of this special local public interest programming, CBS Sports coverage of US Open Tennis will be preempted locally on Monday, September 6 (scheduled 11:00am-6pm). 

Live Local Sports

The TV5 production team is hard at work on this season's local sports programming.

Our University of Maine sports schedule kicks off with Black Bear football on September 25, as Maine hosts William & Mary. We're planning live coverage of several Black Bear men's ice hockey games, as well as men's and women's basketball. And we have all three high school football state championship games in November.

We're also talking to our friends at the New England School of Communications about potential Husson Eagles sports broadcast opportunities.

Our local sports broadcast schedule will be posted later this summer, with updates as necessary throughout the season.
