Satellite Home Viewing Act information
Under Federal Law, your satellite service provider may not deliver an out-of-market CBS or CW signal to your home if you are within WABI-TV's acceptable signal range, as determined by Federal Communications Commission standards.
If you wish to purchase out-of-market CBS or CW programming from your provider, and they wish to pursue the matter, they must submit your name and address to us for review.
We regularly process hundreds of such requests on a monthly basis through the website Internet service waivertv.com. This site is accessible to your Satellite provider (Dish or DirectTV) and local stations. It allows us to streamline the process. If your provider has not submitted your name through this service, we will take no action.
WABI TV does NOT grant permission for delivery of out-of-market network programming to homes within our immediate coverage area. We will fairly review any requests we receive from your satellite provider.
If your name has been submitted, and your request has been denied, but you feel that there has been an error, you may request a further review -- in writing. Write to: Program Director, WABI TV, 35 Hildreth Street, Bangor, Maine 04401, or email email@example.com, with "satellite request" in the subject line.
Please understand that if your home is within our immediate coverage area or if you are eligible for delivery of our local signal from your satellite provider, it is unlikely that a review will change the results. We will protect our exclusive rights as the local market provider.

DirecTV carries both our CBS and CW affiliated stations. The CBS station is on local Channel 5. Look for The CW on Channel 14. With proper equipment and service plan, high definition programming is available on the CBS station only.
Dish Network also carries both our CBS and CW affiliated channels. The CBS station is on Channel 5. The CW station is on Channel 19. Dish Network does not currently provide local HD programming to the Bangor market.
